Making The Most In Difficult Seasons
Since my wife was released from the hospital back in December of 2008, life has changed. She's in recovery from a virus that attacked her heart muscle and almost took her life. The end result was being diagnosed with heart failure as the damage to her heart left her heart only pumping at 20%. Since then the numbers have improved and by June of 2009 her heart was pumping at 33%. We will know more after her next doctors visit when further tests will be performed.
As the months have passed, as a family we have gone through many changes. The 1st three months after her illness were very difficult. By June of this year things had improved somewhat and she seems to be getting better and better all the time. Still with that said, life and the things we do have changed as my wife can tire very easily and have difficulties breathing.
Yet every Saturday night as a family we attend Saturday evening services and go out to eat. Then on Sunday we again attend services and afterwords go out to lunch. We look forward to our weekend, church and going out to eat. We've also learned to be thankful for our weekends.
It's not how much you do, where you go, or how exciting it is. It's the simplicity of spending time together as a family.

‘The Things That Are Revealed’ Are Found In ‘The Holy Scriptures.’
Deuteronomy 29:1-29
God has done great things for His people - ‘in the land of Egypt... in the wilderness’(2,5). Acknowledging Him to be the Lord their God, they were to live in obedience to Him (6,9). The way of obedience is the way of blessing. Moses warns the people that they must not depart from the way of blessing. Moses warns the people that they must not depart from the way of obedience (16-28). Turning away from the Lord leads to judgment - ‘anger and fury and great wrath’(24-28). There are ‘secret things’. There are ‘things that are revealed’. Some ‘things’ we will never understand. These ‘things belong to the Lord our God’. There are many ‘things’ we have learned and have firmly believed. ‘The things that are revealed’ are found in ‘the Holy Scriptures.’ Through God’s written Word, we are brought to ‘salvation’ and we are ‘thoroughly equipped’ for Christian living (29; 2 Timothy 3:14-17).

Ask God To Make You More Holy.
Deuteronomy 28:25-68
There is nothing inevitable about the chain of events described in these verses. These are the consequences of disobedience. God is warning His people: ‘If you will not obey the voice of the Lord your God...’(28:15). Why does God warn His people of the consequences of disobedience? He wants them to draw back from the way of disobedience and follow the pathway of obedience and blessing. These ‘curses’ were avoidable. They would only happen if Israel persisted in rebelling against the Lord. We can bring ‘curses’ upon ourselves. Don’t imagine that God doesn’t care how you live. He does. That is why He calls us back from the pathway of disobedience. That is why He exhorts us to choose holiness. Read Hebrews 10:26-31; 12:25-29. Pray for God’s mercy (Luke 18:13). Ask Him to make you more holy (Hebrews 12:14).

Our Problem May Be Great. God's Power is Greater.
Romans 15:1-33
With Christ’s example, ‘the encouragement of the Scriptures’ and the enabling power of God, let us love one another,‘with one heart and one voice’(1-6). This is the way of glorifying God. Trusting in Christ, ‘the root of Jesse’, we are blessed by ‘the God of hope’, filled with ‘the power of the Holy Spirit’- so that we may ‘abound in hope’. This hope comes to us through ‘the Scriptures’(12-13,4). God’s saving purpose was not only for the ‘dyed in the wool’ Jew. He saved both Jews and Gentiles (9-12). Thank God that Paul was not as narrow-minded as many people are today! God’s blessing is not only for our type of people! Let us learn from Paul. ‘A minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles’, he was always reaching out to more and more people ‘in the fulness of the blessing of Christ’(16,29).
Romans 16:1-27
Paul was writing to a Church with big problems(17-18). Deeply influenced by the wrong kind of people, the Church gets bogged down in ‘dissensions and difficulties’. Critical, fault-finding people exert an extremely divisive influence. They look after their own interests. They only think about themselves. Nothing else matters to them. They manipulate other people - to get their own way. They go out of their way to get their own way! The problem may be great - but the power of God is greater(19-20)! Strengthened by ‘the God of peace’ and ‘the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ’, let us press on in ‘obedience’ to God, claiming His victory over ‘Satan’. Let ‘the preaching of Jesus Christ’ make you strong for God (25-27).

The Goodness Of God
I believe that there is favor over the bride and flock of God. Yes, the world is encountering problems. There are wars and rumors of wars. There are earthquakes, and pestilence. Love has waxed cold among certain nations, and many other things are fast coming forth. However over the bride and flock of God, His called, His chosen, His sons and daughters. I believe that there is favor, and blessings to behold.
